Mike Fredericks worked as a sky marshal, US Customs Special Agent, and DEA Special Agent in the Pacific Northwest, at EPIC, and in overseas assignments in Colombia, Pakistan, the Caribbean, and South Asia, busting drug traffickers and enforcing US drug laws. After his retirement, he worked with the DEA Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he trained international airline pilots on counterterrorism and vital aviation security procedures for the Air Line Pilots Assn., Int’l (ALPA).

During his time in Colombia with DEA, Fredericks investigated the infamous Medellin cocaine cartel, pursuing notorious traffickers Pablo Escobar and Carlos Lehder, and raiding jungle cocaine laboratories with the Colombian National Police, and more. Following three years as advisor to the Punjab Joint Narcotics Task Force in Lahore, Pakistan, he was promoted to group supervisor and his award-winning team in San Juan, PR Enforcement Group 1 gained recognition for record-breaking financial seizures while disrupting cocaine and heroin trafficking organizations operating throughout the Eastern Caribbean.
